Civils winners revealed for £12bn National Grid high voltage work

The third and last stage of its £59bn provide chain framework awards for the Nice Grid Improve follows cabling and converter station deals announced earlier this year.

Six HVDC converter civil works suppliers have been awarded positions on Lot 1 of the Framework Settlement totalling roughly £9bn.

The winners are: Balfour Beatty, BAM Nuttall, Galliford Strive, Laing O’Rourke, Skanska and Taylor Woodrow.

As well as, three HVDC onshore cable civil works suppliers have been awarded locations on Lot 2 of the Framework, value an estimated £3.7bn.

They’re Balfour Beatty, Murphy, and VolkerFitzpatrick.

Contracts have been secured for a five-year interval, with the potential to increase for an additional three years.
